I plan to dedicate this blog to my family and our new lives down south. I have been trying new things with my time at home as well as enjoying my pregnancy. I hope to stay diligent and document what I am doing often. Since this is my first post, I feel obligated to post a brief family history, even though most readers probably already know this information.
D and I went to school together and officially met in 7th grade band. D was the trombone player in the back of the room throwing pencils at me in the front row. While we have both grown up, the inclination to throw things at me has not decreased.
We began dating right before the start of our senior year of high school. I felt right from the beginning that my boy friend was also my best friend, and that has not changed. After graduation, we decided that we should go to separate colleges and keep a long distance relationship. Well, that didn't last too long. I had already been accepted to transfer to Purdue for my sophomore year before my first quarter at Ohio U was even complete. We spent our next three years of college at Purdue together, and I can't imagine changing one minute of it. I have many fond memories of friends, Purdue, and the All-American Marching Band.
D and I were engaged at the end of fall semester sophomore year with the wedding planned for post-graduation. On June 19, 2004 we were officially married and have been working as a team ever since.
Right after our wedding we moved to Pittsburgh and into our first home. D officially expanded his mr-fix-it skill set from cars, to houses. Together we remodeled a kitchen, a bathroom, and D created a new bathroom in the basement. After two years of continuous home improvement, we came to the realization, that although we greatly improved our home, there were some things we could never change. At that same time, I accepted a new job offer that would give us the freedom to move away from the city and into a larger home. We jumped on the chance. We moved into a lovely newly built home in a quiet neighborhood with a bunch of fun loving people.
While we had mastered our at home lives, D was beginning to realize that his work life was not meeting expectations. An opportunity had presented itself for a job where D could witness the affect of his work and have more opportunities for career advancement. It was a hard decision for us to make, because I was settling into my new job nicely, and we were in love with our new home. In the end, D took the job offer and we set out on this new adventure.
