It's fall!

I have never appreciated fall as much as I do this year.  After experiencing my first South Carolina summer, I am more excited than ever to welcome the wonderful weather of fall.  Besides the relief from the sun and temperature, I am excited for the flavors of fall.

Apples:  They just taste better in the fall.  Fresh and local from orchards - yum!  This fall we took BabyD to an orchard for a fall festival.  We had a great time.  There were hay rides, petting zoo, band, BBQ, pumpkins, cider, and apple butter.  We took advantage of the scenery for some pictures

And we brought home some fresh cider and apple butter.

Squash:  Orange veggies are a big family favorite.  One of our favorite family dishes is a thai curry with butternut squash.

Pumpkins:  Pumpkin pie is also a favorite of D's, which I will have to see if I can make it dairy free so I can have some this Thanksgiving.  It isn't fall without a pumpkin pie.

Weather:  Who doesn't love the fall weather?  Warm sun during the day, wisping cool breezes, sprinkled with colorful falling leaves......sigh....I just love this weather :)

Cook some chili, enjoy a glass of warm apple cider, and enjoy the season change :)
