I would have to say that 2010 was a very good year for me and my family. First and foremost to note is the birth of BabyD. I love that little guy to pieces and couldn't imagine him not in my life. I could say that he has changed our lives, but I hate to be cliche' Sure, he has changed our lives and they will never be the same, but it was a change that I wanted to have. A change we welcomed with open arms.
The second biggest item of 2010 was the sale of our PA house. D and I lived apart for 10 months waiting for the house to sell and then we lived in a rental in SC, still waiting for another 6 months. Thankfully the house sold 10 days before BabyD was born and we could officially start our new lives in SC. We were also very lucky that our moms are some of the best moms out there. They took it upon themselves to make multiple trips out to PA to help finalize the move and pack up our belongings for the moving company. We were basically helpless in SC with me so close to my due date. If D would have had to take vacation to pack up our house, that would have been time he couldn't spend with me and BabyD when he was born, and the chance that he would miss the birth of our first child. I was in a panic at that very thought.
And coming in a super close third, was the completion of our home. Building finished mid-November and we were able to move in right before Thanksgiving. We have accomplished our dream of being able to live on an inland lake. We are beyond ecstatic.
I don't think that 2011 will be as exciting, and that is ok, we could use a little bit of calm in our lives and some time to enjoy it.
